Match’s ‘Datemaster’ bus service offers singles the chance to date while they commute to work
10th August 2016 – A new service offering busy singles the chance to meet fellow singletons on their commute to work has been launched today. The new Datemaster Bus, unveiled by Match is a unique service allowing Match members and other singles to hop aboard, socialise and speed-date on their way to work. The bus route will run this week throughout the capital as a pilot scheme, and if successful, will be rolled out across the UK at a later date.
The double-decker Routemaster has been re-designed for guests to enjoy their journey in a manner rarely associated with the stresses and strains of the typical daily commute and to encourage time-poor Londoners to put their commuting time to good use. Many singles find themselves juggling work, socialising, exercising and other commitments, meaning they rarely get the opportunity to meet new people and go on multiple dates. Research by Match has found that 55 per cent of single Britons (and 57 per cent of those in London) admit they don’t go on as many dates as they would like because they don’t feel like they have time.
The bus departed this morning from Clapham Junction to Liverpool Street leaving enough time to ensure passengers arrived at work for that 9.30 meeting having already met more singles in one journey to work than they might’ve done in the previous month.
Match dating expert Kate Taylor said, “Londoners are the first to blame their lack of love life on their hectic schedule. So city-singles have to look for ways to fit dating into their already busy schedule. The DateMaster bus is the perfect solution! You can speed-date over a healthy breakfast, and flirt before you’ve even hit the office. I wish normal commutes could be so romantic, but Londoners are usually keen to avoid eye contact on public transport. The DateMaster bus finally allows singles to interact in a fun, romantic and time-efficient way. All aboard! (And if you miss the bus this time, remember you can always use the Match dating app to find dates during your commute every day. You can flirt, check out profiles and exchange messages 24/7. Perfect in the city that never sleeps.)”
